Great Wolf, Soccer, Apple Picking
I organized a dads-and-daughters trip this weekend to Great Wolf, a resort in PA about 2 hours from the city. It's a hotel with a HUGE indoor water park attached to it (www.greatwolf.com). Joining the 4 of us were Bill Ackman and his middle daughter, Lucy; Bill's friend, Warren, and his daughter Samantha; and Fred Singer and his two kids, Isaac (one son allowed!) and Lily. We were only there from Friday night to Saturday evening (my girls had soccer games on Sunday), but it was a hugely fun escape -- we'll definitely be going back!
Alison and Emily had soccer games yesterday. Alison scored a goal off the trick I taught her (on the opposing team's goal kick, stand up front, pick off the kick and go straight in for a goal), which I captured on video. She also had an assist on a beautiful corner kick, as her team won 6-0.
Emily's goal production dropped by 62% (she wasn't going to score 21 goals EVERY game! ;-), but she still managed to score 8 goals as her team won 6-4 and 4-1 (they play two half-games of 4-on-4).
The picture on the right in the third row is from after the game, when Katharine put a donut between two chocolate chip cookies and make a sandwich -- my teeth ache even thinking of it!
The final pictures are from Katharine's field trip last week to go apple picking.

Susan's 39th Birthday; Boat Trip
It's Susan's 39th birthday today. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUSAN!!! We celebrated last night with Susan's family in the Berkshires -- see upper left pic. We're going out to dinner and a show tonight.
Last week, Emily's class went on a field trip, taking a boat cruise around New York harbor, seeing the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island among other sights.
The pic in the lower left is from me taking Alison and Emily to school today. Emily likes to ride her scooter and pull her backpack at the same time -- quite a trick! (Emily wasn't smiling because she'd only woken up a few minutes earlier -- it's totally unlike her to sleep in -- and was still groggy...
