My Weekend With the Girls

It was a gorgeous weekend so we spent all day both days outside, scootering, biking, boating, rock climbing, playing soccer, hitting playgrounds, the merry-go-round, etc. Alison and Emily had sleep-overs yesterday, so Katharine was very lonely last night (but was too exhausted to whine much). Susan just called from the airport, so I'd better start cleaning up!!! Posted by Picasa

Mr. Mom

Susan's at a golf camp near San Diego for 5 days and I have the girls -- I hope you're sitting down -- all by myself!!!! Zoiks!!

Well, there's a new sheriff in town and NO MISBEHAVIOR WILL BE TOLERATED! There are some new rules: for example, NO CHEESE WHIZ ON THE SOFA! And: NO MORE THAN TWO HOURS OF TV BEFORE BEDTIME! You get the idea... The girls, as you can imagine, are miserable! ;-)

I took them to school today and they were all on wheels -- Alison and Emily on their Heelys and Katharine on her scooter. I had to run to keep up.

Katharine and I visited both Alison's and Emily's classrooms and she was a hit! The last pic is with one of Katharine's best friends, Evan -- the two of them are having a joint birthday at the end of May. Posted by Picasa

Alison's 10 Today!

Posted by Picasa
Alison's turns 10 today. I just dropped her off at school with a ton of cupcakes for her class. Here's a pic of Alison and Emily (wearing their new Healy's -- sneakers with wheels in the heels, which the girls LOVE) this morning, just before heading off to school. Also, here are some pics from their piano recitals yesterday (including one with their teacher). They both did great!

Emily's 7th Birthday

Though she turned 7 last Sunday, Emily's party with all of her friends was this afternoon in the gym at the school next door to our building. They played kickball, soccer, tag, etc., ate cake and whacked a pinata. Posted by Picasa

Alison's Soccer Game

Both Alison and Emily had soccer games on this wet, cold day. Susan took Emily to her game (Emily had a bunch of goals in a win) while I took Alison, who played great defense and scored a great goal in a 4-0 win. Posted by Picasa

Alison's 10th Birthday

We celebrated Alison's 10th birthday with a party yesterday afternoon and evening. It was a mock sleepover, so a dozen of her friends came in PJs and everyone had dinner, ate cake, whacked a pinata and then watched a movie. Everyone had a great time! Posted by Picasa

Emily's 7th Birthday

Emily turned 7 today. She wanted cake for breakfast (she decorated it herself, as you can see), then the girls decorated Easter eggs, then we went bowling, had lunch at Friendy's, went swimming and capped the day with mini golf! Her big party with 20+ of her friends isn't until Friday... Posted by Picasa

Passover & Easter

We celebrated Passover last week, including a Seder at our apartment with lots of guests, and now we're in the Berkshires, where we went on an Easter egg hunt and prepared for Emily's 7th birthday tomorrow (the party with 20+ of her friends isn't until next Friday, however). Posted by Picasa

Kenny & Lotta's Wedding

Susan and I went to Gainesville, FL last weekend for my cousin Kenny's wedding. The Tilson clan gathered from around the country (and, in my mom's case, the world!) for this festive occasion and of course a fine time was had by all! (The baby Susan and I are holding is Julia Tilson, the three-month-old daughter of my cousin Alex and his wife Deborah.) Posted by Picasa

The Soccer Season Has Started!

Emily and Alison had their first soccer games of the spring season today. Emily's team is much improved from her past teams, so they won 10-4 and Emily only scored maybe half of the goals (though she claims she scored 8 of them -- does she have her mother's ego, or what?! ;-) More importantly, Emily had her first assist of her life and almost had another one.

Then we went to Alison's game and because private schools are still on spring break they were short a player so Emily got to play with the big girls, which is always a thrill for her. Emily held her own and Alison played great in a 1-1 tie.

Then my mom and I took Emily and Katharine to the playground before putting them down for a nap (so there's some temporary peace and quiet in the Tilson household)! Posted by Picasa

Circus and Toys R Us

We went to the circus and then Toys R Us in Times Sq. with the Ackmans and the Kumbles. Posted by Picasa
