Emily's Show, Woodloch, Jackson Hole

Emily was in a short, cute show this morning at her summer camp (see the two pictures in the upper left -- she's in the orange hat in the center).

We spent last week at a family camp in the Poconos called Woodloch with two other families who also have kids at Nightingale. There were all sorts of fun activities like Family Olympics.

Finally, the 3 pics on the bottom right are from my 24 hours in Jackson Hole at a conference this week -- saw hot air balloons and paragliders in the morning. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to partake in any of the fun activities. Drat! What a gorgeous area! Posted by Picasa

Soccer and Victorian Gardens

Alison and Emily both had soccer games. Here are a bunch of pics from Alison's game, which Emily played in -- she's become a regular on Alison's team, which she LOVES! She's a little timid -- not surprising, given how tiny she is compared to the other players!

Alison got new roller blades.

Then I took them to Wolman Rink, which converts into an amusement park called Victorian Gardens in the summer. The highlight was the 3-story rock climbing wall which, after an initial period of nervousness, the girls climbed up multiple times, racing against the clock. Posted by Picasa

Alison's Graduation

It was Alison and Emily's last day of school today and it was an especially big day for Alison since it was her graduation from Lower School (Nightingale is divided into Lower School (K-4), Middle School (5-8) and Upper School (9-12)).

There was a lovely ceremony in which the 4th graders sang and played recorders, then all of the lower school classes sang, then the 4th graders made an arched passageway holding daisies (it's called the Daisy Ceremony) and all of the younger girls marched thru it. 4th graders like Alison who had younger sisters got to hold hands with their sibling and walk her thru the arch -- they were so cute!

The upper left pic below is Alison's bookmark, which shows her school picture for each year, K-4. Isn't it amazing how she's grown up? The three pics on the bottom row are from yesterday, when we rode our new scooters (Xootrs to be precise) to school and I visited Alison's classroom. Posted by Picasa

Weekend in the Park

What a wild weekend! On Saturday, Emily's game was rained out, but they tried to get Alison's game in despite the threat of a torrential downpour. A lot of girls didn't show up, so Emily got to play and it wasn't raining for a while, but then it started to drizzle and then it began to rain harder and harder and harder until it did indeed turn into a unbelievable deluge! Alison scored a beautiful goal to give her team a 1-0 win and then the ref called the game. Before the rain, Katharine scootered around and showed off.

Today, we rode to the southern part of the park and played at a playground with the Ackmans before going to dinner at California Pizza Kitchen. On the way home, we played again on the Alice in Wonderland statue. Posted by Picasa

Playing in the Park

I took Katharine on a long bike ride on her new bike from our apartment to the merry-go-round (she rode the entire 3 miles without stopping!) and on our way back, we ran into Susan, Alison and Emily at a playground where we horsed around in the sprinkler. Posted by Picasa

Katharine's FINAL birthday party

Katharine had her third (and final!) birthday party yesterday -- the 1st was just with family last weekend, the 2nd was cupcakes at her school during the week, and this was the main party with all of her friends. It was a joint party with her best friend, Evan, and was held at a gym. Posted by Picasa
