The First Skiing of the Year

 
We went skiing for the first time this year over the weekend. Alison and Emily are in the same ski program as last year -- a developmental racing program (which basically means they recreational ski with an instructor and some other kids) from 9-11am every Sat. and Sunday until mid-March, while Katharine is still on straps (but we'll get her off those soon).

There was a place called Ocean World Adventure Park about an hour from our hotel in the Dominican Republic that had shows and interactive stuff like swimming with dolphins, touching sea lions, feeding nurse sharks, etc. Alison went with her friend and her friend's family and had the experience of a lifetime! (We decided not to go because Emily's squeamish about most animals and Katharine's too young -- next time...)

The resort we stayed at had a professional photographer roving the grounds at all times and she caught some great pics of my ladies (they don't hold a candle to my pics of course, but they're still pretty good... ;-)

We got back from the DR late last night (after a nightmare of a flight -- American Airlines truly sucks!). It was a great trip and school starts tomorrow for the girls. Happy new year to all!!!
